EECHAL celebrates 18th foundation day

Ereipak Enaat Chanura Loinasinlon (EECHAL) celebrated its 18th foundation day at its Uripok Polem Leikai office on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Nupi Samaj president Th Ramani regretted protecting and consoling the Kuki community when they had faced perilous condition some years back especially from the context of Kuki militants targeting the Meiteis.
While opining that state and central governments seem uninterested in ending the conflict or protecting the Meitei villages, she said Manipuri womenfolk shall have to face the Kuki aggressors head-on if the government fails to tackle them effectively.
According to EECHAL president Tongbram (O) Ibemcha, the foundation day is being celebrated in a subdued manner due to the o-going conflict.
Since formation on August 1, 2005, EECHAL has been working for the welfare of the people, she said and pledged to continue extending support and join the people's movement as state and central governments have failed to contain the violence since May 3.Among others, the celebration was attended by AMKIL president L Ngangbi and Tammi Chingmi president Y Momon Leima as presidium members.
