He went on to recall that when the digging started, a large bundle properly packed with polythene was found and inside this bundle, there were seven smaller packed bundles, all of which turned out to be arms and ammunition.
So far recovered arms and ammunition include one M-16, 32 Lethode Shells, 10 Chinese hand grenades, 4 point 36 hand grenades, 423 rounds of AK ammunition, 213 rounds of M-16 ammunition, 1 radio set, 5 detonators, two rounds of 7.62 MM Sniper, 1 round of 7.62 LMG and one lethode shell pouch.
In response to a question, the police officer said that search operation still continues and it would be too early to say how many arms and ammunition have been exactly concealed in that pit by the UGs.
The police officer, however, added that the arms and ammunition have been kept concealed there for attack on security forces.
So it was a big achievement on the part of the combined team to recover the arms and ammunition and avoid any possible attack from UGs.
