Unity Day observed, water tanks distributed

In accordance with the directive of Ministry of Home Affairs, Manipur & Nagaland Sector of CRPF organised National Unity Day at CRPF Group Centre, Langjing to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sadar Vallabhbhai Patel, also referred to as the Iron Man of India, on Tuesday.
The National Unity Day observance attended by IGP Akhilesh Prasad Singh and DIGP Madan Kumar included a Run for Unity participated by officers, personnel and their families.
As part of the event, an oath-taking ceremony was also organised, during which all officers and personnel pledged to protect the unity of the nation and uphold the peace and integrity of India.
On the other hand, as part of its Civic Action Programme, 143rd Bn CRPF distributed water storage tanks to the underprivileged people of Yai-pha Leikai, Lamphelpat and Guigailong village in Imphal West district on Wednesday.
A release issued by 143 Bn CRPF informed that the distribution function held at Yaipha Leikai was attended by second in-command, 143 Bn CRPF K Sonny Singh along with Yaipha Leikai secretary Kh Sanaton Singh and Meira Paibi president Ibemcha Devi.
Second in-command 143 Bn CRPF Y Nadakishore Singh also attended the event and distributed the water storage tanks to the villagers of Guigailong village.
The func tion was attended by 143 Bn CRPF AC K Angambou and Gugailong village chairman R Gaingam and secretary Leangzin Gangmei, among others.
People of Yaiphal Leikai and Guigailong village thanked 143 Bn CRPF for providing water storage tank to them, the release added.
