The North East Centre of Medical and Sales Representatives Union has alleged that medical representatives in Manipur are put under undue pressure from their companies, with the latter demanding that sales of Rs 7 to 8 lakhs must be registered in a month.
Speaking at the triennial Trade Union Class Inauguration cum open session, general secretary of the North East Centre of Medical and Sales Representatives Union, BB Das, said that the extreme pressure mounted on the medical representatives is having serious impact on their status.
The function was held at the Laphubon Mandap at Uripok Tourangbam Leikai.
The general secretary of the North East Centre of Medical and Sales Representatives Union, BB Das advised the medical representatives of Manipur to dispense their duties faithfully and sincerely.
Everyone has to be very careful at this juncture, he added.
Das further said that it is unfortunate that the companies have mounted pressure on their medical representatives to notch up sales of Rs 7 to 8 lakhs each month.
President of the Imphal unit of the North East Centre of Medical and Sales Representatives Union, N Dilip, said that the Union stands for the welfare of all its members and added that the pressure mounted by the companies need to be tackled collectively.
Today, medical representatives are seen and treated as ordinary salesmen and this mindset needs to be checked, said N Dilip.
The discussion at the function centred primarily on the problems and hindrances faced by the medical representatives in Manipur.
Today's function had BB Das as the chief guest, N Dilip as the president and Dr Dwijamani as distinguished guest.
