Pre-Diwali old clothes distribution drive spreads warmth & cheer

Imphal, November 03 2023: As the festive season of Diwali approaches, the spirit of giving and sharing is at its peak.

In the true spirit of this festival of light, the JCI Imphal Iconics has taken up a heartwarming initiative by organising a Pre-Diwali old clothes distribution drive under the theme, "Har Ghar Khushiyon Ki Diwali" .

The idea is simple but impactful- collect old, used clothes from generous donors and distribute them to the less fortunate just before Diwali.

The old clothes, which might have been gathering dust in the closet, are being transformed into tokens of warmth, comfort & hope.

"We believe that Diwali is not just a festival of lights, but also a festival of compassion & kindness.

We had set up a collection and distribution centre at Dharamsala Thangal Bazaar making it easy for people to contribute to this noble cause.

The response from the community has been overwhelming, with many individuals and families coming forward to donate old clothes", said JCI Imphal Iconics.

According to JCI Imphal Iconics, the distribution of these clothes have been carried out systematically & with care, taking safety measures into account especially given the ongoing pandemic.

All the members of JCI Imphal Iconics including president JC Lata Jain, secretary JC Dipika Jain, treasurer JC Suman Jain, chairperson JC Sona Jain and JC Anita took active participation in making the project successful.
