Imphal, July 26 2023:
The Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) has asked all Meitei Pangals drivers not to engage in any work of Central Armed Police Force until all people who torched two buses at Sapormeina in Kangpokpi yesterday are booked.
Speaking to media at its office at Hafiz Hatta today, MMWO president Boboi Korimayum said that a number of civilian vehicles are currently being used to carry security personnel due to the shortage of security vehicles amid the violence in Manipur.
Claiming the RAF personnel however abandoned the two drivers who were engaged to bring their personnel from Dimapur yesterday when attacked by a horde of Kuki mob, he further claimed that the Central security forces didn't stop the mob from burning the two buses.
He said that the two drivers of the ill-fated buses have been taking shelter at Kangpokpi police station for some time due to the tense situation.
Saying that one of the drivers rushed inside a nearby forest when the mob started attacking them while the other took a lift from one Naga and reached home safely, Boboi asked why the RAF team abandoned the two drivers when they were under attack by Kukis.
