The above demand was raised during a meeting of local clubs of villages in Yairipok namely Chandra khong, Phanjakhong, Malom, Leirongthel, Ningel, Kakmayai, Kekru, Khoirom, Bamol Leikai, Pechi, Shikhong, Nongpok Sekmai, Ukhongshang, Langmeithet, Lourembam, Bishnunaha, Yairipok Bazar, Siphai Leikai etc held at Yairipok Bishnunaha Pukhri Achouba Mapal community hall today.
Addressing media persons during a press meet held after the meeting, Bishnunaha Youth Federation Yairipok (BYFY) President Laishram Ananda on behalf of the local clubs demanded the authorities concerned to revoke the suspension of Nongpok Sekmai within 72 hours failing and warned that intense agitation will be staged in association with the clubs and organizations in the State if the demand is not materialised.
Expressing dismay over the diversion of the various forms of crimes committed on the Meiteis ever since the outbreak of the conflict by one incident, he questioned what punitive actions have been taken against the Police and Government officials who were posted at Churachandpur, Moreh, Torbung and so on where large scale of violence took place.
'It's a serious concern raised not only by the locals of Yairipok but by the people of the whole State why no actions have been taken against the failure of the Administration and officials concerned which led to the mayhem of today', he said.
Denouncing the suspension of Nongpok Sekmai PS OC over one single incident aimed at sidelining the key issues of the ongoing crisis, he urged the authorities concerned to handover all cases of killings and arson to CBI so as to bring out the truth.
Resolve the crisis first and let justice take its course, he maintained.
Anand further asserted that 'All trials and procedures in connection to the case should be taken up within the jurisdiction of Manipur and not outside the State' .
