Kangpokpi, July 29 2023:
Thousands of Kuki women blocked Imphal-Moreh road in Tengnoupal to stop the State forces from entering the border town on July 28 .
The State security forces convoy of ten vehicles heading towards Moreh and disrupted by Kuki women in Tengnoupal included the Indian Reserve Battalion, Manipur Rifles, and State commando personnel.
According to Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) general secretary Khaikhohauh Gangte, the Manipur Government is dispatching a large convoy of State commandos and other State forces to Moreh town with Arambai Tenggol and Meitei Leepun volunteers embedded with the convoy.

He continued that the aggressive move by the Government posed a serious threat to the security of the Kuki civilians in the border town.
The KIM general secretary continued that State police are still at Moreh allegedly against the assurances given to them by the Union Home Minister while he was in Manipur.
He went on to claim that helicopter service between Imphal and Moreh has been used to transport additional police commandos and the Meitei militants to the border town.
The attempt to deploy additional State forces at Moreh is uncalled for and unjustified, he added.
It may be recalled that the Kuki womenfolk have been urging the authorities concerned to withdraw the police commandos from Moreh town.
The intense stand-off between the Kuki womenfolk and the security forces continued in Tengnoupal till the time of filing this report.
