Competition for displaced students held

Imphal, July 29 2023:
Office of the Zonal Education Officer, Imphal West and Star Education Manipur jointly organised art and painting competition on Friday on the theme 'Talent hunt programme for rising star' for riot-affected students staying in the relief camp at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre Lamboi Khong-nangkhong.
Speaking in this regard, Imphal West ZEO Sucheta Khumukcham informed that the competition is aimed at providing a platform for students displaced by the ethnic clashes to showcase their talents and help mitigate mental trauma faced by the young students to some extent.
She also announced similar programmes will be organised at different relief camps.
The painting competition was held in four categories with Th Lanchenba (Class II), N Nikita (Class II) and M Soya (Class II) winning the first, second and third position respectively in pre-primary to Class II category.
Ksh Yaiphaba (Class V), Th Dhanaraj (Class III) and Medrina (Class III) won first, second and third prize re spectively in Class III-V category; N Thounganba (Class VII), Raj (Class VII) and Ningthoujam Babysana (Class VIII) won first, second and third prize in Class VI-VIII category; while Moirangthem Sujalata (Class X) won first prize, and M Abungthoi (Class X| and Rk Prithinganba (Class X) bagged second and third prize respectively in Class IX-X category.
Thermos bottle, diary were given to the winners of the competition.
