Punish Sapermeina bus arsonists: Trade Union

Imphal, July 29 2023:
Demanding punishment of all those involved in burning two Meitei buses utilised for transporting central security forces at Sapermeina in front of Kangpokpi police station, All India Trade Union Congress Manipur State Committee (AI-TUC) demanded termination of service of officials of Kangpokpi PS who pasted white papers in number plate of the two buses with the ulterior motive to isolate the buses.
In a release, AITUC condemned RAF for their cruel act when the two drivers requested them to save their lives.
Moreover, it lauded the Naga brothers who saved the life of one of the missing drivers Md Rasheed.
As security personnel deployed by the centre for secur: ing lives and properties of the people failed to exhibit their mandated obligation to save the drivers who carried them, they should be returned to their respective battalions as they will be useless in the present conflict, it contended.
Urging the government to pay adequate compensation for the loss to the bus owners, it appealed to private bus owners not to lease their bus for transporting security personnel.
