Relief materials extended

In a bid to alleviate the suffering of the Meitei/Meetei community residing at Kanglatongbi Bazar Board Leikai, a team of CCIAN Forum Peace Committee visited the locality today and provided edible and relief materials.
It is worth noting that there are around 40 Meitei households only in this particular locality and they are facing various challenges amid the prevailing unrest in the State.
Members of CCIAN Forum Peace Committee handed over the relief materials to the Meitei/Meetei womenfolk of the locality in the sacred complex of Ibudhou Awang Koubru Kanglatongbi.
Speaking in connection with today's step of extending aid, Committee convenor Angomcha Chingkhei said that they have come to extend aid and solidarity to the Meiteis/Meeteis residing in the locality after receiving the news that they are facing immense difficulties due to the ongoing conflict.
The committee has been extending aid to various relief camps across the State since May 15 last, he said.
He also denounced the public rally staged at Mizoram which was attended by its Chief Minister Zoramthanga where placards with slang and humiliating words against Manipur's Chief Minister and termed such a rally as a humiliation to the whole State.
Expressing gratitude to the committee for extending the helping aid amid the tough times, Kanglatongbi Bazar Board Leikai Meira Paibi Secretary Warepam ongbi Sanahanbi Devi highlighted that the Meiteis/Meeteis who are a minority in the region have not received any form of aid from the Government's side during this difficult phase Stating that the young students are deprived of school education due to the ongoing conflict, she urged the authorities concerned to take up appropriate measures to resume their studies at the earliest.
Meanwhile, Thoubal Athokpam Meira Paibi Lup Ward no 5 donated edible items to Sugnu Awang Leikai relief camp in Kakching district which is managed by Kha Maikei Kanba Lup.
