Arms, bombs recovered during search ops

Imphal, July 29 2023:
Manipur police seized several arms, ammunition and bombs during search operations conducted during the last 24 hours.
According to Police Control Room, state forces conducted search operations in the vulnerable and fringe areas, in which seven arms, 45 rounds of ammunition and three bombs were recovered.
Regarding allegations that police are being sent exclusively in certain areas of the state, the Control Room refuted the rumours, terming it totally baseless and unfounded.
It mentioned that joint security forces are deployed in all districts of the state, who are working overtime to bring back normalcy and peace in the state as soon as possible.
Around 131 Nakas/checkpoints were installed in different areas of both the hill and valley districts, and 503 people detained police for curfew violations.
Movement of 647 vehicles on NH-37 and 360 vehicles on NH-2 with essential items were ensured under strict security measures.
The Control Room reiterated its appeal to the general public not to believe in false rumours and be aware of false videos.

It further appealed to the public to return the looted arms, ammunition and explosives to the police or nearest security forces immediately.
