At the airport, Gaurav Gogoi, deputy leader of the Indian National Congress in Lok Sabha, said the delegation consists of MPs of Opposition parties of both the Houses of the Parliament, Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.
The members include MPs, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury (INC), Gaurav Gogoi (INC), DK Suresh (INC), Phulo Devi Netam (INC), Sushmita Dev (TMC), Kanimozhi Karunanidhi (DMK), AA Rahim CPI (M), P Sandosh Kumar (CPI), Aneel Prasad Hegde (JDU), Mahua Maji (JMM), Manoj Kumar Jha (RJD), NK Premachandran (RSP), Mohammed Faizal Padippura (NCP), Javed Ali Khan (SP), Sushil Gupta (AAP), Arvind Sawant (Shiv Sena), D Ravikumar (VCK), Thiru Thol Thirumavalavan (VCK), Jayant Singh (RLD), ET Mohammed Basheer (IUML) and Rajiv Ranjan Prasad (Lalan) (JDU) .
Gaurav Gogoi said the delegation believes in a united North East and united India.
North East India is diverse with various communities inhabiting the region.
There may be differences among them, but all should stand together for a united North East and united India, he said.
Gaurav said the Prime Minister should spread the message of peace and solidarity and initiate dialogues to restore peace and tranquillity in Manipur.
The youths of the State who have taken up AK-47 Rifles should be made to once again return to colleges and Universities, he said.
The Prime Minister should speak about Manipur and what he is planning to do for peace to be restored in the State and to strengthen the bond of brotherhood among the communities, he added.
INDIA's delegation will assess the ground reality and visit displaced people taking shelter at relief camps to understand their grievances.
The MPs will then present the ground reality in the Parliament, Gaurav said.
MP Arvind Sawant said it is "very unfortunate" that the State and the Central Government have failed to end the crisis even after nearly 90 days.
Accusing the Speaker of not allowing the MPs to speak on the Manipur issue and adjourning the Parliament multiple times, he said such nature is against the interest and wellbeing of Manipur.
He said the present Manipur situation demands both the Ruling and the Opposition to come together and take up efforts to restore peace.
To surely discuss the Manipur issue without fail and to ensure presence of the Prime Minister in the House, the Opposition parties have raised a No Confidence Motion in Parliament, he said.
Notably, No Confidence Motion has been admitted in the Lok Sabha while the date for the debate on the motion is likely to be fixed on July 31 .
JDU MP Rajiv Ranjan urged all communities to work towards bringing peace.
The Prime Minister has not spoken a word on the Manipur issue.
He is "afraid" of visiting Manipur, hence he is "roaming around the world".
The Government of India isn't concerned about Manipur, he said.
