Assam Rifles pays homage to brave-hearts

Noney, July 29 2023:
Paying homage to the sacrifices made by gallant soldiers in the line of duty, Noney Battalion Assam Rifles of Jwalamukhi Sector under Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organised a wreath laying ceremony at War Memorial, Battalion Noney on Saturday.
The commandant, second-in-command and all ranks including daughter of rifleman Parmatma Singh, who is presently posted in the battalion, paid tribute to the brave-hearts by laying a wreath for the fallen heroes.
On Jul 24,2004, while on ROP duty havil-dar (GD) Mohan Lai, rifleman (GD) Parmatma Singh and rifleman (GD) Rakesh Kumar were ambushed by miscreants in Ukhrul.
They sustained gunshot wounds and attained martyrdom.
The families of all the brave hearts contacted by the battalion expressed their gratitude towards the Assam Rifles for taking care of them in their difficult times.
