CM distributes financial assistance for education of children

Chief Minister N Biren Singh distributed one-time financial assistance to beneficiaries under "Special Scheme for Education of Children of Labour Card Holders" staying at relief camps.
The distribution programme was organized by Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board at the Chief Minister's Secretariat today.
Addressing the gathering, N Biren Singh reiterated that the current crisis in the State is instigated by a group of people who intentionally want to disintegrate the State.
"Even though all are facing much hardship due to the crisis, we are still living together and striving for normalcy to return by God's grace," he added.

The Chief Minister informed that construction of prefabricated houses at different places for relocation of displaced persons are almost in completion stage.
He continued that some displaced persons, whose houses had not been burned or razed to ground in the violence, have started resettling in their original places of settlement.
For those people whose houses had been burned down, the Government is planning to build new houses for them, he said.
He said that the Government is providing a sum of Rs 5000 each to those labour card holders staying in relief camps, to help a little in the education of their children under the Special Scheme for Education of Children of Labour Card Holders staying at relief camps.
The State Government had earlier distributed financial assistance of Rs 1000 to each person staying in relief camps for the first phase and the second phase of such assistance will be distributed very soon, he said.
Motivating the inmates taking shelter at different relief camps, N Biren stated that the Government is taking up all possible measures to help resettle all the displaced people and to provide necessary assistance.
The Chief Minister also maintained that the Government is taking necessary security measures to allay fear of further aggression and restore faith and confidence among communities.
Water Resources Minister Awangbow Newmai, Transport Minister Khasim Vashum, Advocate General Lenin Hijam, chairperson of Manipur Building and Other Construction Worker's Welfare Board K Saratkumar Singh, Chief Secretary Dr Vineet Joshi also attended the programme among others.
