CS assures to look into employees' issues

Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi has assured the three agitating employees' unions that he would look into the issues and problems being faced by state government employees.
Addressing media persons at the conference hall of Old Secretariat office, Babupara here on Saturday, Manipur Government Services' Federation (MGSF) vice president Laishram Sharat said that employees and pensioners of the state government understand the prevailing situation in the state.
However, since it is also equally important for the employees and pensioners to highlight their grievances and problems to the authority concerned on a timely basis, MGSF, Manipur Secretariat Services' Association (MSSA) and Manipur State Pensioners Union (MSPU) submitted an 11-point charter of demands to the chief secretary to help smoothly run the government.
He further informed that representatives of the unions met the chief secretary on September 28 wherein issues and problems of the employees and pensioners were highlighted.
During the meeting, the chief secretary assured of looking into the issues of the employees and urged them not to take up any harsh actions considering the present crisis in the state.
The chief secretary also appealed to the employees to extend their support and cooperation in restoring peace and normalcy in the state.
The representatives of the employees' unions also expressed confidence that the employees will contribute their mite in resolving the issues of the state.
Office bearers of MGSF, MSSA and MSPU were also present during the event.
It may be mentioned here that the charter of demands include - monthly salaries of employees on the first day of every month; replace NPS with OPS; release pending DA/DR as agreed on September 7, 2021; release retirement benefits of retired employees; provide benefits of LTC (Leave Travel Concession) and Children Education Allowance; fix grade pay of government drivers at Rs 2400; fill up vacant posts in Manipur secretariat; review decision of making Saturday non-holiday; follow transfer and posting policy; and stop direct recruitment of MSS and initiate Limited Departmental Examination.
