The Mani-pur Pradesh Congress Com- mittee (MPCC) has reacted to the charges raised by BJP against its election manifesto and also resolved to lodge a complaint to the Election Commission against the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur if he doesn't take up action against the BJP for violating Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by calling a large numbers of womenfolk at Chief Minister's bungalow and quarters.
Addressing a press briefing at Congress Bhavan today, MPCC president K Meghachandra said that the BJP is scheming to portray the Congress party in the wrong light by giving misleading comments against its election manifesto to win the election.

"It is ridiculous," Megha-chandra said referring to the alleged misinterpretation of the Congress manifesto by the BJP.
Misleading people is the trait of the BJP, the MPCC chief continued and added that there is nothing wrong in Congress party resolving to set up a Reconciliation Commission to solve the crisis in Manipur in a way which is amicable to all.
What Congress party advocates is to remove the BJP Govt in Manipur which has failed administratively and politically, he added.
The election manifesto of the Congress party doesn't say it will give separate administration to anyone, Meghachandra maintained and accused the BJP of using paid Youtube channels to depict the Congress party in the wrong light.
People in large numbers flocked to CM's Bungalow and Ministers' quarters and there were even allegations that they were given money, Meghachandra continued and added that the CEO, Manipur, however , hasn't initiated any action against the BJP despite lodging a complaint against the alleged violation of MCC.
He said that they will lodge a complaint to the ECI against the CEO, Manipur.
Congress candidate of Inner Manipur Parliamentary seat Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam said that it would be very wrong for any party to think they can win votes by spreading falsehood.
Bimol Akoijam, who is a common candidate of INDIA bloc, said that the Congress party mentioned two important phrases in its election manifesto which were targeted by BJP and they were "Reconciliation Commission" and "satisfactory to all the people of the State.
Saying that the Reconciliation Commission seeks to solve the violence and bring a lasting peace in Manipur through a farsighted vision, he asked if resolving to set up the Reconciliation Commission and solve the crisis in Manipur is wrong.
There is no single point in the election manifesto of the Congress party which poses a threat to the State's integrity, he added.
He asked BJP to stop misinterpreting the election manifesto of the Congress party while clarifying that the settlement which the party advocates is the one which is acceptable to all.
Reminding that the Congress party also supported the resolution adopted during the recent Assembly session to update and implement NRC in Manipur, Bimol Akoijam advised the ruling party to refrain from misinterpreting whatever the Congress says.
The Congress MLAs in Manipur are not against NRC, he clarified.
A consensus was reached when the Congress party signed a SoO agreement with Kuki militants to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur, he reminded.
