Lecture, awareness, security meet conducted

The Indian Army conducted a lecture programme for students of Bethel High School in Moreh, Tengnoupal district, about admissions to prestigious defence institutes like Sain-ik Schools, military schools, RIMC, etc.
The students were also informed about opportunities of joining the armed forces made aware of admission procedures, eligibility criteria and curriculums of the premier institutions located in various parts of the country.
Students' queries demonstrated their interest and concern for their careers, PRO Defence informed in a release.
Indian Army also conducted an awareness drive followed by a medical camp at Leimaram relief camp, Bishnupur district on Sunday, benefitting 150 villagers including women, children and elders as Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Liwa Khullen village of Chandel district attended by 125 villagers.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles initiated a security coordination meet at Sangaikot and Aina villages in Churachandpur district on Friday with the participation of village authorities including chiefs and secretaries.
According to a PRO IGAR (S) release, the meeting discussed the need to engage youth in sports, education and other meaningful activities apart from the locals sensitised and updated on current security situation existing in the area and encouraged to align their efforts towards a common goal of peace and prosperity in the region.
36 village chiefs from Makhao, Leisan Tampak, Patzang, Pantha, G Songgel and other adjoining villages of Sangaikot sub-division and Aina attended the meeting, who expressed desire to fight the odds for keeping the area peaceful and safe.
