Imphal, April 07 2024:
On the occasion of World Health Day, the Spear Corps Division of Indian Army on Sunday conducted medical outreach programme at Tumukhong, Imphal East district, aimed at bridging the gap in healthcare access exacerbated by the conflict.
A statement by PRO (Defence Wing) informed that the initiative which benefitted around 500 people from four villages, provided essential medical assistance to those in need.
It mentioned that in the strife-torn state, the division had organised approximately 70 medical camps in last one year, reaching out to communities in Bishnupur, Leimakhong, Imphal East, Yaingangpokpi, etc.
These camps not only provided medical assistance but also extended essential support to IDPs in relief camps, ensuring that even amidst challenging circumstances healthcare remained a priority, it added.
