Konjengbam Poireikhomba wins Rapid Chess tourney title

Imphal, April 07 2024:
Kongjengbam Poireikhomba claimed the title of the 3rd DCA Rapid Chess Tournament 2024 organised by the D Chess Academy at Uripok Khoisnam Leikai.
Poireikhomba amassed as many as 6 points to top the tournament after 7 rounds as Khoisnam Kinison (21.5 bh) and Hemam Jogendro (19 bh) finished second and third on the same 5 points.
Longjam Kenedy (24.5 bh) and Mangal Elangbam (22 bh) were placed in the fourth and fifth positions on the same 4.5 points.

Wangkheirakpam Shrinibash emerged the youngest player and Lemba Sougaijam was named best D chess academy player.
Yaikhomba Huidrom and Thounaojam Dupachandra were declared best two U-15 boys and Nadia Sougaijam and Nongthombam Anjelena Chanu were adjudged best two U-15 girls.
Sinthoiba Ningthemcha and Yaingamba Yumnam were in the meantime adjudged best two U-10 boys and Nongthombam Jojo Chanu and Yaichen Yumnam were declared best two U-10 girls.
All the players were feted with cash prizes today during the closing ceremony held this evening.
