The 51st Raising Day of Autonomous District Council, Senapati was held at ADC Office complex today organised by the District Council Administration, ADC, Senapati.
The occasion was graced by A Kapani, Caretaker Chairman, ADC, Senapati as the chief guest.
The chief guest hoisted the National flag in front of the office building followed by the National anthem before the commencement of the programme.
In his welcome note, Adahrii Maheo, CEO, ADC, Senapati highlighted the spirit of dedication and commitment towards the local self governance works at the grassroot level to push for proper administration and execution of works in the service of the people.
He also mentioned the importance of having grassroot empowerment of the ADC where the past elected members, executives, officials and staff under the district council administration have been working towards that goal.
Speaking at the occasion, RD Thaili, Inspector of Schools, ADC, Senapati read out the Act of different sections of the Autonomous District Council for full time functioning of the council in the hill districts and appointment of staff as public servants but not implemented fully in reality.
The Inspector also drew the attention of the past elected members and the forthcoming members to strive for attainment of its full autonomy under the provisions of the district council administration in near future and proper functioning of the Autonomous District Council.
Speaking as the chief guest, Caretaker Chairman, ADC, Senapati A Kapani highlighted the various developmental projects taken up in the district and which are in the pipe-line.
He urged all staff under ADC, Senapati to dedicate in the service of all for development of the district in near future too while appreciating all concerned for their tireless services till date.
He termed the postponement of ADC election as unfortunate leading to non-functioning of the ADCs in the hill districts leading to immense loss in terms of developmental activities.
In view of the prevailing unrest in the State, the Caretaker Chairman, ADC, Senapati including all the former elected ADC members appealed to all concerned to bring peace and restore normalcy in the State at the earliest.
