Relief materials distributed to 17,911 IDPs

Churachandpur, February 13 2024: Relief materials for the 17,911 internally displaced persons (IDPs) were distributed by Churachandpur district administration through CSOs on Tuesday.

Altogether, 1001 bags of rice were handed over to 15 CSOs including Kuki Khanglai Lompi, Young Vaiphei Association, Hmar Youth Association, Young Paite Association, Young Mizo Association and others.

The relief materials consisted of 245.5 bags of dal, 209 bags of potato, 56 bags of onion, 131 tins of oil, 18,082 pieces of eggs, 55 bags of sugar and 125 packets of tea leaf along with 570 packets of turmeric powder.

So far 36,530 bags of rice, 8417 bags of dal, 4246 bags of potato, 2906 bags of onion, 47,838 tins of cooking oil, 17,809 bags of 'Matar Chana', 1086 bags of sugar besides soybean chunks, pumpkin, chilli, mosquito nets, cabbage, tin fish, bed-sheets, diapers and sanitary pad have been provided to the displaced persons through the district administration.
