MNCA Superplate Tourney : Khundrakpam Punshiba picks six as YUCC crush Muvanlai by 9 wickets to squeeze into semis

YUCC-Kwakeithel Moirangpurel trounced Muvanlai by 9 wickets for the fifth win and to finish Group B runners up in the 2nd MNCA Superplate Tournament at Khangabok Part III Cherapur Public Ground today.
The result helped YUCC pip KCC for the semi-final berth from the group as ESU finished Group winners with 6 wins in 7 matches.
Khundrakpam Punshiba produced a brilliant bowling performance and grabbed 6 crucial wickets for 7 runs in 4 overs to break the backbone of the Muvanlai and set up their collapse at 69 in 14 overs.

Only Haolengou Kipgen (23) and Md Aslam (13) were double digit scorers for Muvanlai after they elected to bat first.
Ningthoujam Sanjit also picked two wickets while conceding 25 runs in 4 overs.
In reply, Ningthoujam Thoiba scored an unbeaten 52 off 23 balls to steer YUCC to winning 71 in 7.4 overs with 9 wickets left to spare.
Thoiba's knock include 7 fours and 2 sixes.
W Lenin was also unbeaten on 16 .
Kh Punshiba was adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak, YWC-Langthabal capped their Group A campaign with an 89 run victory over RCA for the third win.
YWC racked up 174 runs for 8 in allotted 20 overs after being put to bat first riding on a half century from Seram Robinson (42-ball 52) and come notable knocks from Heisnam Manikanta (36) and Ngangbam Bingson (39 not out).
YWC then held RCA to 85 for 8 in the chase thanks to economical bowling performances from Maibam Subash (2/9 in 3 overs) and Soubam Robinson (2/10 in 4 overs) .
For RCA, Imram Khan was the highest run getter with 24 runs in his name while Aziz Mirza was the second highest scorer with 12 runs in his 12-ball innings.
Heisnam Manikanta also picked a wicket in this innings and eventually walked away as the man of the match.
