5 star hotel set to adorn Imphal

Chief Minister N Biren Singh laid the foundation stone for construction of a luxury 5 Star Hotel by Classic Group of Hotels at a solemn function held at the Sangai Conference Hall of the Hotel Imphal today.
The luxury 5 star hotel will be constructed under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
The construction of the hotel is likely to be completed in two and half years, before the Sangai Festival 2025 .
Congratulating the Classic Group of Hotels on their new venture, N Biren Singh stated that Manipur is a State with a lot of potential which could be developed well.
He also expressed that Babina Group has shown many visible changes in the last few years.
The Chief Minister said, "The State had hosted many National and international events such as G-20 with many visitors coming from outside the State.
The Government was earlier worried about the accommodation of the visitors.
It is appreciable that the Classic Group had provided comfortable accommodation to the visitors" .
He said that the visitors had always appreciated the hospitality and services provided by the Classic Group.
N Biren also mentioned that the Ministers of Sports who are here have also visited the Olympian Park and they have appreciated it.
Even though Manipur is a small State, it has produced as many as 19 Olympians.
This is huge, he said, adding there will be more Olympians from the State in future.
He said, there are many communities in the State and all of them are hospitable by nature.
Manipur is among the South East Asian States which has its own language and script.
Manipuri language is among 13 regional languages approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs for CAPF examination.
He then urged all to preserve and promote indigenous culture, language and scripts.
N Biren Singh also stressed the need for cooperation and support of all in harnessing the potential of the State.
He also expressed happiness that people of the State have started appreciating the good work of others and added that with proper coordination, the State is progressing forward.
He expressed gratitude for people's support towards the development initiatives of the Government.
Chairman and Managing Director, Babina Group Dr Th Dhabali Singh made a short presentation on the demand and supply analysis of hotel rooms in Imphal.
A presentation was also made on the upcoming luxury 5 star hotel.
He said the 5-star hotel will have 70 guest rooms and its all-day dining bistro will have 60 seats.
A specialty restaurant with a seat capacity of 40 will also be accommodated inside the hotel.
MAHUD Minister Yumnam Khemchand, Textiles Minister Nemcha Kipgen, Health Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan, Public Health Engineering Minister Leishangthem Susindro Meitei, Manipur Handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation Chairman Khongbantabam Ibomcha, Manipur Electronics Development Corporation Chairman S Kunjakeswor, Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo, Wangkhei AC MLA Thangjam Arunkumar, Lilong AC MLA Mohd Abdul Nasir, Moirang AC MLA Thongam Shanti, Kumbi AC MLA Sanasam Premchandra, Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, Commissioner (Tourism) PK Jha, officials of the Government and staff of Classic Group of Hotels also attended the programme.
