MST announces restrictions

Imphal, April 24 2023:
Manipur State Transport (MST) has cautioned that passengers travelling on its buses without valid ticket are punishable with fine which may extend up to Rs 500 under Section 178 (1) of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988 .
In a notification, MST joint director Laishram Delina Devi informed that transportation of psychotropic substances like Heroin, WY Tablets, etc., and foreign and local made liquor and other illegal items are strictly prohibited inside MST buses.
Eating/chewing Gukta/Pan, etc., and spitting are also strictly prohibited, the joint director added.
While informing that it is the duty of every passenger and crew to safeguard, protect and abstain from damaging, causing wear and tear to MST buses, the joint director appealed to the public to respect MST crew (driver and conductor) and not to indulge in any physical or verbal abuse to them.
Advising the passengers to check the date and amount (fare) on the ticket while demanding valid ticket from MST counters or conductors, the joint director urged the passengers to pay the exact price for the ticket and report to the concerned authorities in case of any malpractices.
