Free eye camp conducted

A free eye camp cum distribution of spectacles was held today at Bright Way Club, Kwakeithel Lamdong in Imphal West District The eye camp was jointly organised by Imphal West District United Clubs' Organisation (IWDUCO) and Bright Way Club under the aegis of All Manipur United Clubs' Organization (AMUCO) .
It was held in collaboration with National Programme for Control of Blindness & Visual Impairment (NPCB&VI), National Health Mission (NHM), Manipur.
The camp was attended by AMUCO president, Pheiroijam Nando Luwang; Th Inaobi, vice president Brightway Club; Mm Thambou, vice president AMUCO; Dr Tekcham Sangini, Ophthalmologist CHC Yairipok and Abujam Narajit, secretary organisation IWDUCO as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Pheiroijam Nando Luwang stated that with an aim to provide eye care services and reach out to maximum number of people, free eye camps are being organised in different places across the State under the aegis of AMUCO.
Pointing out that eyes are one of the most important organs of the human body, he urged all to take proper care of their eyes and go for regular check-ups.
During the camp, a medical team led by Dr Tekcham Sangini and Dr Thounaojam Samila, Ophthalmologist PHC Keirao examined about 200 persons for eye related problems and provided free spectacles to 115 persons.
The spectacles were donated by Dr Bikram Khoisnam, State Programme Officer.
