RCA, PCC ease into U-14 boys tourney semis

RCA and PCC faced little resistance on their way to the semifinals of the MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament on Monday.
RCA produced an all-round performance to overpower PTCC by 191 runs in their quarterfinal contest at PTRC Ground, Patsoi.
Electing to bat, RCA backed by Md Samir Khan's 104 and Zoned's 74 piled up 322/10 in their 30 overs.
Nawaz Sarif (28) and Md Soib Hassan (17) were other notable contributors in their innings.
For PTCC, Dhirendakishore, Somobanta and Roneljit Ayekpam took two wickets each as Devas Tongbram and Nungchengba Soraisam bagged one apiece.
After they dished out a brilliant batting show, RCA followed it up with a collective bowling effort to skittle out PTCC in 26 overs for 131.Farhan Ahmed snapped two wickets while Zoned, Nawaz Sarif, Md Irfan, Mustaqim Ahmed, Md Soib Hassan and Albas Khan got one each in their comprehensive victory en route to the semifinals.
Md Samir Khan was named the man of the match for his 104 off 60 balls.
PCC, meanwhile, beat ESU by 61 runs in the other quarterfinal match played at PCC Ground, Mayaikoibi.
PCC opted to bat first and scored 188 after being bowled out in 25 overs.
Key contributors in their innings were Lucky Thokchom (51), Dilshan (33), Lamnganba Nongmaithem (22) and Pravin Kumar (18) .
In the process, three of PCC's wickets fell to H Donba Sharma and two each to Th Simesh, S Sayonba and N Salaingamba.
PCC then needed 16.4 overs to bowl out ESU for 127.Lamnganba Nongmaithem stole the show racking up five wickets as Pebam Yoimayai picked up two, with Lucky Thokchom and Pravin Kumar accounting for one each to propel their side to the last four.
Soibam Sayonba (44) and Donba Sharma (23) were the main performers in ESU's run chase.
Lamnganba Nongmaithem clinched the man of the match title for his five wickets.
