Imphal, April 24 2023:
Manipur Home Guard Employees' Welfare Association president Y Mangi has urged authorities concerned to replace commanders-in-charge of five battalions and take appropriate action for not heeding order of higher authorities.
Speaking to media persons at the Association's Luwangsangbam office on Monday, Mangi pointed that home guards have been working for many years and there is also Act and rules for ensuring home guards to operate under a separate department.
Mangi further said that they have been requesting the CM to take up initiatives for welfare of home guards.
As such, an order was issued to submit documents required for making seniority list, guidelines for promotion and rectifying unpaid ranks within April 27 .
As the requisite documents were not submitted in time, a reminder was again issued but the commanders in-charge failed to submit necessary documents of 2000 home guards in the state, he contended.
Mangi further informed that the association submitted a memorandum to the CM for replacing the commanders for the welfare of the home guards.
