U-19 cricket: CRAU, RCA register easy wins

CRAU, Khamnam Bazar and RCA, Lilong enjoyed emphatic victories in Saturday's fixtures of the MNCA Men's U-19 One Day Trophy.
CRAU strolled to a seven-wicket win over MPA, Thounaojam in their Group D meeting at Oriental College.
The Khamnam Bazar side bowled out their opponents in 30.5 overs for 109 and then they closed out their run chase inside 14 overs.
Khumanthem Prakash led the CRAU bowling scalping four wickets, followed by Sanatomba K and Kh Lohitsun who both claimed two wickets, with Heishnam Joyhenba and Yohenba Th taking one each to pave the way for their victory.
In the MPA innings, Lucky Elangbam scored 50 off 85 balls and Wahengbam Nareshkumar made 22 off 27 balls while the rest of the batters fell cheaply.
Chasing a low total, CRAU took just 13.5 overs to achieve the target with Ph Jodash, who batted at No 5, unbeaten on 50 off 27 balls and opener Sanatomba K scoring an unbeaten 34 off 39 balls.
During the chase, Heishnam Joyhenba (7) and Khumanthem Prakash (0) fell prey to Soram Naoboy while Taibangnganba Konsam (1) was dismissed by Elangbam Rohit.
Sanatomba K was adjudged the player of the match for his two wickets and 34 runs.
RCA, on the other hand, overpowered YWC, Langthabal by 110 runs in their Group A match at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Opting to bat, RCA scored 196/7 in their 40 overs with the help of Naeem Ahamad and Syed Hussain.
While Naeem hit an unbeaten 69, Syed scored 51.Also, who put in efforts in their innings were Aziz Mirza (22), Zamir Khan (20) and Md Safwan Ahamed (10 not out) .
RCA then made short work of YWC batting lineup, dismissing them in 28.4 overs for 86 for their dominant victory.
Zamir Khan emerged as the chief destroyer for RCA with a haul of four wickets as Md Illiyas Khan and Imtiyas Khan picked up two each, and Aziz Mirza chipped in with one in their triumph.
For YWC, Seram Roobinson (25) and Heisnam Manikanta (15) were the only batters who got into double figures.
Earlier, Sorokhaibam Dailish snapped three wickets while Seram Robinson, H Manikanta and K Thoithoiba took one each for YWC.
Zamir Khan received the player of the match trophy for his four scalps and 20 runs.
