Tengnoupal, April 29 2023:
Imphal-Moreh road has been shut indefinitely at Moreh College area at Chikim village by a Joint Action Committee formed in connection with the death of Seiminthang Lupho.
It may be noted that Seiminthang Lupho alias Thangboi (28), son of (L) Sehlal Lupho of Canan Veng, Moreh Ward No 7 was found dead in Khujailok River in an area between Moreh Ward No 6 and 7 on April 27 .
Suspecting it to be a case of murder, the JAC had said that the body of Seiminthang had several wound marks on his forehead and chest and his left hand was found fractured with blood stains on his ears.
The JAC had also claimed that blood was also found on the bridge atop the river a few metres away from where the dead body was recovered.
Yesterday, the JAC had imposed a total shutdown in Moreh demanding the Government and police to solve the case and identify all those involved in the case.
Today, the supporters of the JAC blocked the road to all vehicles except those engaged in providing emergency services, ferrying people to the airport and religious procession.
While the bandh affected the normal flow of traffic on the highway, the JAC, however, allowed shops and hotels to open in the Moreh town.
Vehicular movement was also not restricted in the town.
