Jiribam, April 29 2023:
Student bodies have strongly denounced the transfer of teachers who have recently joined at two schools of Jiribam as per an order issued by the Director of Education (S), Manipur on April 27 last.
In a joint press release, student bodies namely MSF, DESAM, KSA and another student body of Jiribam district said that the transfer order issued by the Director of Education (S), Manipur, L Nandakumar Singh on April 27 last is unacceptable.
It may be noted that the transfer order was issued for teachers namely Laishram Banita Devi, Arts Graduate Teacher from Jiribam Higher Secondary School and Pukhrambam Paikhombajeet Meitei, Science Graduate Teacher, Sorok Atingbi High School.
Ironically, the teachers joined in the aforementioned schools on April 24 and their transfer order was issued within a gap of only three days, claimed the student bodies.
The student bodies maintained that such an act of the authorities concerned is against the welfare of the students when the schools in Jiribam district are facing shortage of teachers.
Raising suspicion of irregularities behind the transfer order, the student bodies urged the authorities concerned to revoke the transfer order at the earliest.
Further the bodies appealed to all concerned teachers who have not yet joined their respective place of posting to join the schools and start teaching.
The students warned that if the teachers concerned are found not attending their respective schools, complaints will be made at the department concerned seeking for their termination.
