Addressing a press meet at BJP office here, in connection with the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat, for which the BJP government is making elaborate arrangements to celebrate the milestone by organising special events and reach out to as many listeners as possible, Dr Ranjan appealed to the people of the state to join the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat.
He said that 96 per cent of the citizens of the country know that PM Modi will speak to the public through radio on the last Sunday of every month.
So far, 100 crore people have joined Mann Ki Baat with the number of listeners growing every month.
An average of 22 crore listeners join the programme per episode and 60 per cent of the listeners have committed themselves towards nation building after getting inspired by the real life stories shared by PM Modi, he said.
All the stories and experiences shared in the programme are real life experiences of common people and the narratives of PM Modi are focused on inclusive development.
The Prime Minister also appreciates and encourages the heroism of army men, speaks at length about environment and natural resources among the diverse topics mentioned in the programme including Loktak Lake of Manipur.
PM Modi has been able to get emotional attachment with the common people through this programme, Dr Ranjansaid.
Mann Ki Baat began in 2014 and the programme is translated and broadcast in 53 Indian languages.
Moreover, it is broadcast in 11 foreign languages thereby contributing in giving global recognition to the country and its people.
Even the former President of United States of America, Barack Obama once called PM Modi over the phone after listening to an episode, and appreciated his efforts to establish direct communication with the common people, the minister informed.
The union MoS also spoke on 'Selfie with Daughter', 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' and other topics touched by the Prime Minister in his Maan Ki Baat, which was later converted into a public movement bringing positive changes in the society.

Such innovative campaigns helped in controlling the pandemic and carry out a robust vaccination drive.
In short, Mann Ki Baat is an effective tool to reach out to the common people of the country, even in the remotest area, and encourage them to contribute in nation-building, he said.
Dr Ranjan also recalled a spirited conversation with the parents of an ailing child from a remote hill village of the state, who had received assistance under PM Relief Fund.
He also mentioned the encouraging remark made by PM Modi in his Maan Ki Baat on the innovative idea of making lotus silk from lotus stems by a young woman from the state.
