CYCLONE register fifth win on trot in MNCA Elite Tournament

CYCLONE-Thangmeiband shone in both the batting and bowling to overwhelm MPSC by 114 runs for their straight win in the ongoing 7th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2022-23 .
CYCLONE produced a dominating batting show after being let to bat first with Loktongbam Santosh hitting a blistering ton and Kishan Laishram and Bikash Singh smashing half centuries to give MPSC a huge target of 296 runs losing 8 wickets.
CYCLONE started their innings on a strong note with with L Santosh playing a lone hand early on.
He lost his partner Aditya Prasad (17) at 68 runs in 13.2 overs to Keisham Kenedy and Longjam Ronald (26) for the second wicket after being trapped lbw by Potsangbam Bonem in 23.5 over as the scoreboard read 135 .

After bringing up 106 courtesy 12 fours and 6 sixes in just 85 balls, Santosh was cleaned up by Sarangthem Shangker for the third wicket before Kishan Laishram and Bikash Singh forged a 96 run partnership for the fourth wicket and took the tally past the 250 run mark.
K Kenedy however managed to break the partnership by removing Bikash Singh for 52 runs (29 balls, 4 fours and 4 sixes) in the second delivery of the 36th over and it was the turning point for the innings as CYCLONE lost three more wickets in following three overs before Kishan Laishram who was trying to anchor fell for 38-ball 60 off Soubam Kishan's bowling.
Jenpu (1) and Aribam Ronald (6) were unbeaten as the innings ended at 295 runs for 8 .
MPSC's K Kenedy (2/56) and Soubam Kingson (2/3) finished with best bowling figures for MPSC in this innings before their disastrous chase.
MPSC lost opener Laishram Kipajan for 2-ball duck in the second delivery of the chase and were never in contention as wickets kept tumbling and succumbed to CYCLONE's bowling pressure at 181 runs despite Sagolshem Sunil scoring an unbeaten 84 in 86 deliveries.
Longjam Ronald (3/24 in 8 overs) and Kishan Laishram (3/18 in 7 overs) were at their fluent best today as they ripped through the MPSC batting line up while Bikash Singh fetched two wickets to add more teeth to the attack.
Loktongbam Santosh and Laishram Roshan also chipped in a wicket apiece to set up the big win.
Kishram Laishram who produced an all round performance was eventually adjudged man of the match.
