Residents warn to block road, ban entry of vehicles if road not repaired by Mar 15

Citing poor condition of the road to the east of NH-102 and going towards Hayellabuk under Khangabok Assembly Constituency of Thoubal district, aggrieved residents have warned of blocking the road unless relevant authorities undertake road repair work.
Speaking to media persons, Kh Jitendra, president, Sport, Culture and Educational Organisation (SCEO) Khangabok Part-I stated that due to prolonged neglect, the drains on either side of the aforementioned road are in very bad shape and the culverts along the road have fallen apart and fragmented.
This has caused even pedestrians to be wary while traversing through this road, he maintained.

Reportedly, a Commando Complex is also located along the road while KM Blooming Higher Secondary School is in close vicinity.
Highlighting the importance of the road due to the location of the Commando Complex and the school, he has urged the relevant authority to renovate the said road at the earliest.
Further, he cautioned that if tangible steps are not taken up within a week then entry of vehicles along this road will be banned.
N Anita, Meirapaibi secretary of the locality shared that they had appealed to many authorities including Thoubal DC and the local MLA, however their pleas have fallen on deaf ears.
As such, she urged the concerned authority to take up repair work on the road by March 15 adding that entry of all vehicles will be blocked otherwise.
