DMU PG students form association

A meeting of post-graduate students of Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) was held at the varsity's School of Humanities Block on Monday during which DMU PG Students' Association (DMUPGSA) was formed.
In a release, DMUPGSA informed that owing to many pressing issues besetting DMU, post-graduate students came together to form the Association to raise the common issues of the PG students.
The meeting resolved that DMUPGSA will represent and advocate for the academic welfare of PG students and continue to be common platform for inter departmental cooperation, co-ordination and discussion on various issues of PG students until the formal PG Students' Union is fully authorised by the university authority, it added.
DMUPGSA also mentioned that during the meeting, student representatives from various departments were nominated to various posts including Salam Rohen Meitei (Department of Anthropology) as president; Sapam Kamali Devi (Sociology), Nameirakpam Rikash Mangang (Life Sciences), Kingson Jangkholen Lhungdim (Mathematics), Sorokhaibam Thoithoi Meitei (Manipuri) and Ch Engneisiak Aimol (Law) as vice presidents; Lourembam Poireiton Meitei (Political Science) as general secretary; and Longjam Bipinchandra Singh (Geography) as finance 'secretary among others.
