Imphal, February 28 2023: Even as the beneficiaries of NFSA and PMGKAY under Polling station number 12/9 of Keishamthong AC have been claiming that they are not been given their due share of rice since the last four months, nominee of the Constituency MLA has clarified that distribution of NFSA rice for upto October and PMGKAY for upto September 2022 has been completed while processes are underway to distribute the remaining rice as soon as possible .

Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, a woman identified as Lairenjam Sumatibala said that beneficiaries from Polling station 12/9 are not getting their due share of NFSA and PMGKAY rice since November 2022 .

She asked why the FPS agents are not distributing the rice when the contractor himself has admitted that the rice has already been lifted.

There are also some NFSA beneficiaries who didn't get their share of rice while the FPS agents said that screening of beneficiaires is underway, she said.

Asking on what ground was the screening conducted, Sumatibala claimed that many eligible people were cut off from the beneficiaries list.

"We won't raise any complaint if Government employees or well off families are deleted from the list," she added.

She exuded confidence that the MLA will do the needful.

Meanwhile, speaking to media persons at Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai, MLA nominee Maibam Profullo said that he started overseeing the matter of rice distribution in April last year.

Saying that NFSA rice for upto October and PMGKAY rice for upto September 2022 have already been distributed to the beneficiaries of Keishamthong AC, he added that the remaining rice will also be distributed as soon as it arrives.

Further stating that they face certain inconveniences in pursuing the rice distribution works as ration cards weren't distributed to the beneficiaries by those who did the work previously, Profullo maintained that he got an instruction from the MLA to hand over the ration cards to the beneficiaries themselves.

He went on to state that they have been uploading the details of beneficiaries whose names are in the portal but didn't get any rice to distribute ration cards to them.
