Pole Star interim body branded inefficient

The members of the interim governing body of Pole Star Government Aided College, who have not been able to execute assigned task of upgrading the college to a full-fledged government institute during its term, refused to step down despite expiry of their term.
Addressing media persons in this regard at Manipur Press Club, here, on Monday, Pole Star College governing body former secretary Kritichand informed that the College located in Hiyanglam Wabagai was registered in 1981 and had been one of the best colleges in the state.
However, due to poor administration, the college gradually declined with low registration of students and irregularity of teachers.
Various clubs and organisations of Hiyanglam area formed an ad-hoc committee to revive the college and ultimately it was recognised as a government aided college, he said and added that however, the college has not been able to convert into a full-fledged government college till date.
He further informed that it was decided that a general body will form an interim governing body of the college for a period/ validity of three months each to perform the task of upgrading the college.
However, even after the lapse of 6 months the present interim governing body has not been able to fulfil the task and moreover, the members of the body refused to step down so as to facilitate formation of a new governing body for a period of three months.
Therefore, the genuine general body will step in and take up all necessary measures to revive the college and work for its upgrade.
