Manipur Loumi Lup urges

The Manipur Loumi Lup submitted a memorandum to the All Political Parties.
According to H Ibobi Singh, General Secretary, Manipur Loumi Lup, the Memorandum was submitted with list of demands which were adopted during the recent National Council meeting of All India Kisan Sabha at Guntur, Arunachal Pradesh, to be included in the All Political Parties' manifesto.
The memorandum demanded to provide a 'Kisan Pension' of Rs 3000 per month by the Central and the State Government to all the farmers, agriculture workers and rural artisans who attained 60 years of age; change the name of Ministry of Agriculture to Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare; separate budget for agriculture; compulsory and Universal Crop Insurance with the premium being borne by the Central and the State Government; Bank credit facilities with zero percent interest; to stop reducing the subsidies to agriculture sector; free health care; minimum 15 percent of the GDP must be spent on agriculture and compensate the Loktak Project affected farmers.
