Farmers' body urges

Manipur Loumi Lup has urged all political parties in the State to include the charter of demands adopted by National Council, AKIS held on December 19 & 20 at Guntur in their election manifestos and campaign in the interest of the farmers, agriculture workers and rural artisans.
The charter of demands included providing 'Kisan Pension' of Rs 3000 per month jointly by the Central and State Government to all farmers, agriculture workers and rural artisans who have attained 60 years of age; changing the name of Ministry of Agriculture to Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare; allocating separate budget for agriculture, remunerative prices for agriculture products; bank credit facilities at zero per cent interest to all small, marginal, poor and dry land area farmers, etc.
