Contraband items worth Rs 1.90 cr recovered

Imphal, October 30 2021:
Tengnoupal Battalion of IGAR (S) recovered contraband items worth Rs 1.90 crore near Khudengthabi on Saturday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), troops of Assam Rifles intercepted a modified Shaktiman Vehicle moving on a jungle track during border domination operations.
Seeing the troops, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the area.
On checking the vehicle betel nuts, foreign origin textile goods, footwear, beer, sarpagandha, WIN cigarettes and wooden furniture were recovered.
The seized items have been handed over to Customs and Forest departments for further action, it added.
