Convention of Islamic scholars held at Lilong

A convention on the topic ' No Cash For Vote' was held at Islamic Baby English School, Lilong Chaobok Mairenkhun attended by Islamic scholars.
The convention was jointly organised by Al-Murishiddin Imam Society (AIS), Lilong, Integrated Development Organisation (IDO), Lilong, Lilong Ipham Leikai Development Club (LILDC) and United Development Organization (UDO) Manipur.
Addressing the gathering, president of Jamiatul Ulema E-Hind Manipur, Moulana Sayeed Ahamed said that it is against the Islamic laws to take or give money in connection with elections and urged all to refrain from taking up such activities.
He appealed to all to cast the votes rightfully without resorting to any unfair means starting from the upcoming State Assembly election which is scheduled to be held in the early part of 2022.Many resolutions were also taken during the convention which includes conducting mass awareness programmes across the State to sensitize the masses especially the Muslim communities regarding the campaign of 'No Cash for Vote so as to check the money power for a fair and free conduct of elections.
Also the resolution to form a committee comprising of leaders and experts from different parts of the State for the successful conduct of the campaign.
