Volleyball match, walkathon organised

Imphal, October 30 2021:
Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a friendly volleyball match under the theme "Fighting Drugs Through Sports" at P Sejol village in Churachandpur district on Saturday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), sports activities promote as an instrument to fight drug abuse amongst the youths and such events will further strengthen the mutual understanding between the security forces and the youths.
On the other hand, 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/ IGAR (East) organised walkathon in Tamenglong town on Saturday to spread the vigilance awareness as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) which is being observed from October 26 to November 1 .
According to PIB (DW), the event started with a pledge ceremony for the participants.
It was stressed upon to be accountable for self actions to act in public interest to lead by example exhibiting integrity in personal behaviour and to report any incident of corruption to the appropriate agency.
The participants traversed through various lanes and bylanes of the town with banners on vigilance awareness and spreading the message of self reliance with integrity.
People from different walks of life joined for the walkathon also promoting Fit India mission among the netizens.
As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, various events are being organised by the battalion in different parts of the district for further spreading the awareness on ill effects of corruption.
