JD (U) looks to field 15 candidates

Imphal, October 30 2021:
Janata Dal (United) today declared that it would field at least 15 candidates in the State Assembly election and play a key role in Government formation in 2022.Speaking at the 18th foundation day of the party at Keishamthong Hodam Leirak today, State unit president Hangkhanpho Taithul continued that some former and sitting MLAs have expressed their desire to contest the election on JD (U) ticket.
Maintaining that the party is all set to field not less than 15 candidates in the election with the party National president approving it, Hangkhanpho exuded confidence that the party would surely win at least 7/8 seats.
He further stated that the party hasn't fielded any other candidate since 2007 .
Saying that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who also is the JD (U) National president is likely to visit Imphal for election campaigning, he continued that the JD (U), however, has not discussed anything to form a pre-poll alliance with any party .
Hangkhanpho also stated that JD (U) is a major partner of the NDA Government at the Centre.
The programme was also attended by JD (U) senior vice president Limtaljet Haokip, women wing president Ng Sundari and Yuva president Ksh Apollo among others.
