Orphan boy from Irang in Kpi cracks AIEE for BASLP

Unflagging determination and commitment took a 26 year old orphan boy from a thatched roof school to a premier school after he recently cracked the All India Entrance Exam 2021 for Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology.
Arjun Mishra, son of late Hari Narayan Mishra and late Menuka Devi Mishra of Tahar Basti in Irang Part-I from Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency recently got admitted at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Mysore after he cracked the All India Entrance Exam for Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (B.ASLP) and secured the only seat for North East under General merit category.
Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, also known as B.ASLP is an undergraduate paramedical program recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India.

Audiology is a field that involves the study of sound balance and hearing disorders in people.
Speech Language Pathology is a field that deals with the study of evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders in people.
The program aims to make students competent by making them learn basic diagnostic skills and treatment of patients with speech, language, and hearing disorders.
Arjun Mishra's mother, who wished to see her son study in a good building school passed away when Arjun gave his HSLC exam in 2021 while his father who was his backbone died a few years back.
Despite the setbacks, Arjun never compromised with his study and kept going despite all obstacles and finally cracked the examination to be admitted to one of India's premier institutes.
While talking to the media at Kangpokpi town, Arjun Mishra said that late Pagin Kipgen, Principal of Diamond English High School and the founding president of Sadar Hills Private Schools' Association, who expired recently was his everything-mentor, guidance, motivator, etc.
and gave all credit to the late Principal.
"I used to study in a village school with thatched roof and spent most of my spare time with books while looking after the cattle before going to Diamond English High School at Kangpokpi", he said and added that and its a dream come true to study in one of India's reputed institutes now.
He added 'I want to erase some tragedies in my life which haunted me till today and I also want to change the way how people know and remember me till now'.
Mishra also conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to his brothers, sisters, and sister-in-law for their untiring support.
Meanwhile, Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen lauded Arjun Mishra for his achievements awarded him with a meritorious award along with a certificate of competitive excellence.
The MLA said 'it gives me immense joy and pleasure to congratulate him on cracking the All India Entrance Exam for Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology conducted by the All India Institute of Speech Hearing, Mysore'.
She added 'your admission to the prestigious All India Institute of Speech Hearing, Mysore by securing the only seat reserved for North East under General merit will motivate and pave the way for many more students from the Constituency to pursue higher studies in human resource development, research, clinical care, and public education on communication disorders.' The MLA wished the brilliant Gorkha boy a bright future and success.
Darjeeling's BJP Member of Parliament Raju Bista also acknowledged the achievement of Arjun Mishra and wished him success in his future endeavor while All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union congratulated Arjun on his achievement.
