CRPF distributes sewing machines

Imphal, October 30 2021:
The 109 BN CRPF of Manipur and Nagaland sector conducted a civic action programme on Saturday at Kakwa Ningomthong Sairom Leirak community hall during which 16 sewing machines were distributed to the marginalised section of society.
A release by its deputy commandant Kiyam Rajiv Singh said the programme was held with an objective to extend a friendly and helping hand to the residents of Ningomthong Sairom Leirak and surrounding villages, especially to marginalised women.
Commandant Bal Krishna Ram attended the event as chief guest and expressed his gratitude to the locals for giving them the opportunity to extend help.
He further stated that COVID-19 pandemic is not completely under control and reminded that all should wear protective mask, maintain social distancing and practice a good standard of hygiene and seek medical advice by calling a doctor as per Covid-19 SOP.
A cultural programme was also organised as a part of programme attended by YWC president Sh Umakanta Singh, Bashikhong zilla parishad Ch Jasowanta Singh, Thongju Part-I pradhan Th Lata Devi, Second in Command-109 Bn CRPF Sandeep, deputy commandant Kiyam Rajiv, assistant commandant Alex L Khopom and officials and personnel of 109 Bn, said the release.
