Amrit Yuva Kalotsav 2022-23 kicks off

The inaugural function of Amrit Yuva Kalotsav 2022-23 ( Festival of Music, Dance and Drama) kicked off today at Chandrakirti Auditorium, Palace Compound.
The festival of music, dance and drama which will be held for three days is jointly organised by Sangeet Natak Akademi and the Art and Culture Department.
Speaking as the chief guest, Sangeet Natak Akademi Vice President Joravarsinh Jadav highlighted the need to make concerted efforts to safeguard the indigenous culture from the strong influence of western culture.
He also asserted that the artists should strive earnestly to promote the culture and tradition of the State which has secured a niche in the global platform.

Stating that the artists play a pivotal role for the upliftment of the art and culture he maintained that the Government and relevant authorities should extend all possible support to these artists.
The inaugural function was also graced by Art and Culture Commissioner M Joy Singh, Director L Kishorjit and Deputy Director G Dharmadas as the presidium members among others.
Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy's Moibung performance; Rhythms of Manipur's Instrumental ensemble; West Bengal's Odissi dance and Arunachal Pradesh's Tai Khamti enthralled the audience on the opening day.
