Imphal, December 16 2022:
Taking serious note of the mushrooming of private schools in the state, Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has urged the government to monitor these schools.
While launching a 45-day free coaching class for HSLCE and HSE appearing students of government schools at its head office in Kwakeithel here on Friday, MSF president Maibam Alex said that the coaching class is being organised as part of the Federation's 'Eikhoi Lairik Ningthina Tamsi' campaign.
Noting that almost all the students in government schools are from poor families and they could not afford private tuitions or coaching, he said MSF conceived the free coaching programme keeping in view of today's competitive world, emerging trend of education and disturbances in academic atmosphere in the state.
Expressing confidence that its endeavour might help those students to cover up the losses and prepare them fpr the board examinations, he also expressed concern over the mushrooming of private schools in the state, which have been imposing their own set of rules while ignoring the guidelines of the government.
He urged the government to implement the Manipur Private School Registration and Regulations Act 2017 and ensure strict enforcement of the regulations.
