Books contribute in social reformation, says Dr S Ranjan Singh

Health & IPR Minister Dr S Ranjan Singh has emphasised on the need to protect the ideologies and philosophies of the forefathers.
Dr S Ranjan Singh made the above statement while speaking as the chief guest at the book release function of 'Punshi Mahing', an anthology of poems written by Laishram Bihari Singh of Yurembam Awang Leikai.
He further stated that the present generation needs to make sincere efforts to preserve the indigenous culture and identity so as to have a bright future.
Touching upon the aspect of issues and challenges in one's life, the Minister maintained that everyone should have the courage to tackle and overcome such challenges.
Stating that books play a significant role in social reformation, he said that one should acknowledge the works of the writers and should give them their deserved recognition.
Padmashree L Nabakishore; Dr Maya Nepram, Assistant Professor of Pravabati College also graced the occasion as president and guest of honour respectively.
The book release function was organized by Local Organisation of Voluntary Entrepreneurs (LOVE) at Rose Garden today.
