Th Lokeshor Singh demands re-poll at two polling stations in Khundrakpam

Th Lokeshor Singh, the INC candidate from Khundrakpam Assembly Constituency has called for re-poll in two polling stations of the constituency in view of the anomalies in the election process and acts of 'goondaism' by supporters of his rival BJP candidate.
Th Lokeshor Singh while addressing the media persons at his residence at Sagolmang today alleged that a large number of supporters of the BJP candidate, Thangjam Mohendro Singh have captured and smashed the EVMs and destroyed every election related materials at the polling station no 1/20 Sarouthel Primary School under Khundrakpam AC while the Presiding Officer and security personnel remained as mere silent spectators.

Denouncing the act in the highest term, he termed that it is really unfortunate that the security personnel and the Presiding Officer have not done anything to prevent the act without even resorting to blank firing.
Expressing strong belief that they might have joined hands with his rival candidate and conspired against him, he demanded that appropriate action should be taken against these personnel at the earliest.
Further he urged the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Manipur for re-poll in the polling station no 1/20 Sarouthel Primary School of Khundrakpam AC.
He has also submitted a written request for re-poll to the Election Commission of India as well.
Informing about the violation of the normal election process at the polling station no.1/16-Cosmopolitan Primary School, Chingkhu polling station of the constituency, Th Lokeshwar Singh has alleged that the BJP candidate of the constituency and his supporters have halted the maximum number of Congress voters from entering the polling station and have done 100 percent proxy voting in the said polling station.
Therefore he has submitted a written complaint to the CEO, Manipur for re-poll of the said constituency and also demanded to track the CCTV footage.
Apart from the above two incidents, he also informed that the BJP workers in NSU Club area have provided hindrance in taking away of EVM machines by the officials concerned.
The BJP supporters also created a tense atmosphere at Pangei area which is not called for, he added.
Reacting strongly against such acts of violation of democratic rights, he appealed to all concerned to ensure that elections are conducted peacefully.
