BJP supping with armed groups under SoO : Jairam

While accusing the BJP of engaging four underground groups under Suspension of Operation including KNO for electoral fraud such as rigging and booth capturing in as many as 61 polling stations in hill Constituencies, the Congress has urged the Chief Election Commissioner and Chief Electoral Officer to conduct a repoll.
Speaking to the media at Congress Bhavan today, AICC senior observer Jairam Ramesh charged that BJP conspired with cadres of different underground outfits to capture booths in the first phase of election.
Further claiming that Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister N Biren conspired with the KNO to intimidate and influence the voters, the Congress leader called such a cheap manoeuvre a murder of democracy.

The voters in Kangpokpi and Churachand-pur were not allowed to exercise their franchise freely, Jairam Ramesh alleged and urged the Chief Election Commissioner and Chief Electoral Officer to conduct a repoll of the polling stations where voters were denied their voting rights.
MPCC vice president and spokesperson Ch Devabrata stated that the BJP used unethical means in the first phase including proxy voting and booth capturing in nine polling stations in Saikul AC, one in Saitu AC, 23 in Henglep AC, 17 in Churachandpur AC and 11 in Heingang AC.
He also demanded the authority concerned to inquire the alleged proxy votings at Heingang Constituency by constituting a fact finding committee.
The statement of CEO, Manipur which claims that the first phase of polling was peaceful contradicts the complaint of the different political parties, Ch Deva-brata continued and urged the authority concerned to take up a suo moto case for the manipulative statement.
